Historically this land was part of the Lawson family estate, one of this region’s grand & renowned family properties. It was purchased by Greg and Dot Jinks back in 1988, at that time it was being used for sheep farming.
In 1989, the Jinks family built the Canadian style mountain lodge, now the main accommodation. From 1989 to 1993 the property was run as a Deer farm. Greg and Dot were some of the pioneers of the Deer industry in this country, importing Deer from New Zealand. The current Club House and Conference Centre was merely a deer shed, a far cry from the Sports Bar and Cinema it houses today.
Then in 1994 the property went through a massive transformation, converting into a golf course. Initially operating as a private 9-hole golf course with Club House, and then opening for accommodation in 2002. Conference Rooms were added to the Club House in 2006, and the Sports Bar renovated in 2013 to include the stunning alfresco function area.
Lawson Lodge Country Estate has continued to evolve in to the World class tourism destination it is today.
